Objectives for Sociology:

  • At the end of this course students will learn that:

    • Sociology is the science and study of social relations, organizations, and change.
    • Diversity is an important factor when studying Sociology and diversity can be defined as human characteristics suggesting differences among people on any relevant dimension.
    • Multiculturalism fosters different cultural values among diverse groups of people.
    • Pluralism is when groups from different cultures come together to achieve a specific goal. In doing so, individuals within this group exhibit characteristics that are similar and they use these characteristics to influence their individual identity or the way they approach problems or view the world.
